One of my favourite things about being a shoemaker is being able to make my besties their wedding shoes and this pair was extra fun because Lucy requested a pair of GOLD BOOTS!

Lucy's wedding was on a farm and had a festival vibe with the theme of the wedding being GOLD! Us bridesmaids were called her 'Gold Sisters' and by the time the formalities were over and the party was really getting started, someone was making their way around the dancefloor adorning all the guests faces with gold glitter (eco glitter obvs).

Lucy and I share the same shoe size and I have to admit this pair were really difficult to hand over because they turned out even more amazing than I had originally imagined and seriously the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever made!

The leather was a beautiful creamy gold cow hide and guess what? You can now buy some for yourself over on our supply shop!!! Just note, that if you're planning to make boots with it, you'll want to buy two pieces to make sure you've got enough. ;)

Believe it or not, finding the perfect shade of gold is actually really hard.. It can go from amazing to tacky by just being a shade too yellow but i think this leather is just the most perfect shade!

Oh and in case you were wondering.. yes I kept the patterns and HELL YES I will be making myself a pair! 🤩

I hope this project inspires you to think outside the box when creating your shoe designs, think about other hobbies or interests that you have and imagine ways you can incorporate them into your designs!
