JOB ROLE = 3 MONTH PAID INTERNSHIP - Studio Assistant (Creative Craft Brand)

We’re looking for a hands-on Studio Assistant Intern to join our small, creative team and help keep our shoemaking studio running smoothly. You’ll be reporting directly to our lovely Studio Manager, Kate 💗 assisting with shoemaking workshops, Customer enquiries, Stocking and packing our shoemaking kits and general day-to-day operations, all while learning how a successful creative brand works behind the scenes.
It’s a great first industry role for someone with shoemaking experience, preferably a footwear graduate, looking to gain practical, real-world skills in a supportive, inspiring environment. For the right candidate, there’s potential for an ongoing role after the internship.
🗓️ 2 – 3 days/week, 3 month internship role, (Flexible days).
📍 Bethnal Green, London studio. (This will be an in-office role).
🕑 Office hours = 9:30 am – 5:30 pm.
💰 Paid at London Living Wage.

We are I Can Make Shoes, a London-based shoemaking school and online course provider that teaches people all over the world how to make their own shoes from home. Founded in 2010, we’ve built a loyal global community of makers.
In 2023 we launched our sister brand I Can Make Bags.

What you’ll do:

Assist in preparing materials, patterns, and tools for workshops & events.

Support the team during shoemaking workshops and events.

Keep the studio organised, clean, and well-stocked.

Help with packing and shipping online orders.

Contribute creative ideas for upcoming projects and make mock-ups.
What we’re looking for:

Some prior shoemaking experience - ideally a footwear design graduate or student.

A hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a love for making.

A self-starter who can take initiative and work independently.

Organised, reliable, and eager to learn.

Interest in crafts, design, and the handmade movement.
