This project will take you approximately 2-6 hours to make from start to finish. The shoemaking tutorial is designed for total beginners to make from home.

To watch the tutorial, you will need to purchase the Clog Sandal Shoemaking Kit.

Before you get started making your clog sandals, I'd recommend you watch through the whole video tutorial below (at least once) BEFORE you start making anything.

All of the shoemaking components are included in your kit, the only additional tools you'll need are:

• A regular domestic flatbed sewing machine (you can read our recommendations here)
  
• A small jar to decant the glue. We supply some here.
  
• A safety beveler or skiving knife.
  
• A heat gun.

STEP 1

Create a pattern for your insoles using masking tape.

STEP 2

Use this pattern to trace out your insoles onto your insole board. Cut out your insoles and trace these onto your foam sheet.

STEP 3

Apply glue to your insoles and foam sheet before sticking them together and cutting them out.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - This glue is a contact adhesive which means that it must be applied on both surfaces that you want stick together. It also needs time to dry BEFORE you stick it down.

Step 4

On your leather, trace around your insoles with an allowance of approximately 1cm. Cut out your leather and apply glue to both your insoles and the leather. Cover your insoles with the leather and skive the base for a smooth surface.

Step 5

Your upper leather will already be pre-cut for you. Trace your pieces onto your lining leather and cut around them with a 1cm allowance.

Step 6

Insert your buckle into your upper leather.

Glue and stitch your uppers and linings together.

Step 7

Last your straps over your foot and glue to the insole board.

Step 8

Skive any bulk from the base of the insole. Glue the insole and the clog sole unit.

Step 9

Stick the insole to the clog sole.

I recommend you watch through this whole video (at least once) BEFORE you start making anything.
