KATIE'S GREEN FISHERMAN SANDALS

If you follow us over on Instagram, you'll know that we have been doing team 'Crafternoons' every afternoon. Katie, our head of content and design, decided to make these gorgeous green croc fisherman sandals ready for summer. Before joining the team, Katie had ZERO shoemaking experience and has only made one pair of mules so far (until now 😉). Here's how she did it:

To get started, Katie downloaded the I Can Make Shoes Fisherman Sandal Pattern. She then cut this out and traced it onto the pistachio croc leather and the lining. She then glued the lining and upper together with water based glue. The glue needs to be placed on both materials being glued together as it it a contact adhesive. Once the straps were glued together, she then stitched to secure them.

Katie then pieced together the upper. She also cut out her insole board, added a foam sheet and covered it in the same leather as the lining.
She then lasted the upper over her foot. She then cut through the insole board and glued her uppers onto the insole.
Katie then finished off the fisherman sandal by gluing on a double layer or eva soling.
Here's how they turned out:
