Randing is a pre-stitched trimming which acts as a decorative addition on shoes. It is attached to the edge of shoes to imitate a welted construction. It elevates any flat shoe you're making - from derbies and oxfords, as well as ballet flats, mules and sandals.

This natural vegetable-tanned leather randing can be dyed to suit your needs or left natural. Please note that as this is a natural material there may be discrepancies in the colour and texture.

What can I make with this?

You can give your handmade shoes a beautiful, traditional welted look! This pre-stitched leather randing is attached around the edge of the shoe to create the appearance of a welted construction, adding a lovely decorative detail and helping to elevate simple shoe designs. Use it on Derbies, Oxfords, ballet flats, mules, sandals and many more styles.

This is natural vegetable-tanned leather, so you can leave it natural or dye it to match your design. It's 5mm wide with 4mm-wide teeth and is sold in a 1.5m length, which is enough for one pair of shoes in any size.
